Material composition analysis
Polyester film: Polyester film has the characteristics of high mechanical strength, good transparency, and strong chemical resistance. In edge tape, it mainly plays a protective and reinforcing role, which can improve the overall strength and wear resistance of the tape, making it less likely to break during use.
Non-woven fabric: Non-woven fabric has the advantages of softness, breathability, and strong hygroscopicity. After lamination with polyester film, the flexibility and fit of the tape are increased, so that it can better adapt to objects of different shapes and surfaces, and also provide a certain buffering performance for the tape.
High-performance acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive: This adhesive has good viscosity and weather resistance, and can maintain a stable bonding effect under different environmental conditions. It can make the tape firmly adhere to the surface of the object, and when it needs to be removed, it usually does not leave too much residual glue, and the damage to the surface of the adherend is small.
Structural characteristics
One-layer structure: It may be the most basic form, usually a polyester film directly compounded with a non-woven fabric coated with acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive. This structure is relatively simple and low-cost. It is suitable for some scenes where the performance requirements of the tape are not particularly high and only basic insulation and bonding functions are required.
Two-layer structure: Generally, on the basis of the one-layer structure, some special treatments or coatings are added, such as adding a scratch-resistant coating on the surface of the polyester film, or adding some special additives to the adhesive layer to improve certain properties of the tape, such as viscosity, temperature resistance, etc., which is suitable for medium-sized application scenarios with certain requirements for the performance of the tape.
Three-layer structure: It is often further optimized on the basis of the two-layer structure, and more functional layers may be added, such as adding a heat insulation layer or reinforcement layer in the middle to improve the insulation performance, temperature resistance or mechanical strength of the tape, etc., which is suitable for high-end application scenarios with high requirements for the performance of the tape, such as electronic equipment manufacturing, aerospace and other fields.
Performance advantages
High insulation: Polyester film and non-woven fabrics themselves have certain insulation properties, coupled with the insulation properties of high-performance acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesives, so that the edge tape has a good insulation effect as a whole, which can effectively prevent current leakage and ensure the safe operation of electrical equipment.
Breakdown voltage resistance: Through reasonable material selection and structural design, the edge tape can withstand higher voltages without being broken down, which is crucial for electrical equipment used in high-voltage environments, and can ensure the reliability and stability of the equipment within the normal operating voltage range.
Good temperature resistance: Both polyester film and high-performance acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive have good temperature resistance and can maintain stable performance within a certain temperature range. Whether in a high temperature environment, the tape will not lose its viscosity and mechanical strength due to softening, or in a low temperature environment, the tape will not break due to embrittlement, which can ensure the normal use of the tape.
