The 3M Electrically Conductive Adhesive Transfer Tape is a pressure sensitive adhesive transfer tape with anisotropic electrical conductivity. The PSA matrix is filled with conductive particles which allow interconnection between substrates through the adhesive thickness but are spaced far enough apart for the product to be electrically insulating in the plane of the adhesive. The PSA tack properties and lack of any thermal curing make it easy to use in assembly operations.
3M™ Silver PET Electrical Tape – Key Features
✅ Reflective & Conductive-Backed – Aluminum-coated PET provides EMI/RFI shielding (not the same as conductive adhesive).
✅ High Temp Resistance – Handles up to 130°C (266°F), making it ideal for heat-prone environments.
✅ Strong Adhesion – Rubber-based adhesive ensures a tight seal even at high temperatures.
✅ Flexible & Durable – PET backing resists punctures, oils, and moisture better than PVC.
Limitations
⚠ Not a true grounding tape – Requires additional grounding for EMI shielding to work effectively.
⚠ Stiffer than PVC – Less conformable for tight bends (PET is tougher but less stretchy).
⚠ Not for extreme cold – Below -30°C, adhesive performance drops.
